About the Department
In this position in the Cell Culture Team you will be working with Servier Symphogen’s cell line platform in different projects as well as on refinement and development of methodology and processes for new modalities such as bispecific and multispecific antibodies. The overall goal is to identify the best performing cell lines regarding robustness, production characteristics and protein quality.
Preferably, the candidate will have thorough practical skills within cultivation and characterization of recombinant mammalian cell systems and experience with vector optimization and molecular biology techniques such as Q-PCR and flow cytometry. The position requires solid scientific expertise, attention to detail and the ability to work in a team-oriented culture where knowledge sharing and idea generation with peers is key for advancing next generation antibody therapeutics.
Area of Responsibilities
- Planning and execution of workflow for cell line development activities
- Transfection, selection and expansion of suspension cell cultures
- Growth and metabolite characterization of cell cultures
- Cell cloning, culture and screening in 96/384 plates using automatization
- Processing of data and reporting of experiments
- Optimization of processes and workflows in the laboratory
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. or Master degree in expression of recombinant proteins or other related biological science
- Molecular biology experience with e.g., vector construction and Q-PCR technologies
- Solid cell culture wet lab skills, including cultivation of mammalian cells, stable expression and single cell cloning and characterization
- Hands-on experience with techniques for characterization of cells using flow cytomet
- Detail oriented with proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems with diverse variables
- Ability to evaluate data critically and independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as exemplified from public presentations and publications
Additional Qualifications
The following qualifications will be appreciated – but is not a prerequisite:
- Experience with automated cell culture handling by for example Hamiliton or Tecan equipment.
- Prior experience with controlled expression of different chains in bispecific and/or multispecific antibodies in mammalian expression systems
