Postdoc Scientist Position – Multiplexing PK and Cassette dosing of therapeutic antibodies.

Back to Careers

Develop innovative bioanalytical and pharmacokinetic approaches that generate richer candidate data while reducing animal use.

This 18-month Postdoctoral Scientist position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of new pharmacokinetic (PK) and bioanalytical approaches for therapeutic antibodies. The position is anchored in Bioanalytical Sciences and Nonclinical Pharmacokinetics at Servier Symphogen and forms part of a cross-functional research project involving DMPK, In Vivo Pharmacology and Analytical Development.

Objective

The aim is to evaluate cassette dosing, in which multiple antibodies are administered to the same group of mice, as an approach to generate richer pharmacokinetic data for candidate selection while reducing animal use in accordance with the 3Rs principles. A central part of the project will be the development of LC-MS-based multiplex bioanalytical methods that enable individual antibodies to be quantified following cassette dosing.

You will work closely with scientists and technicians across bioanalysis, nonclinical PK, analytical development and in vivo pharmacology. Investigations of known multiplexing technologies through collaborations may be included. Availability to travel to Paris for visits to the Bioanalytical sister department in the Servier headquarters is expected.

Areas of responsibility

Specifically, the position is envisioned to focus on development and testing methods of multiplexing PK analysis of preclinical studies. The following are in scope:

  • Develop LC-MS methods, evaluating targeted and intact-protein approaches, for quantification of individual antibodies in samples with multiple antibodies of both body fluids and tissues
  • Contribute to study design and selection of antibody cassettes for preclinical studies
  • Evaluate concentration versus time profiles across a range of antibody candidates and modalities
  • Present findings internally and, where appropriate, through scientific presentations and peer-reviewed publications.

The exact definition of the project can be subject to change based on your involvement and interest and evolution of the field. A budget is already allocated and dedicated to multiplex PK assay development and in vivo investigations.

Qualifications

You hold a PhD or expect to obtain your PhD before starting the position, within PK, DMPK, bioanalysis, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related discipline, where LC-MS hands-on experience and competencies are key. You are scientifically curious, structured and motivated by interdisciplinary research.

Preferred qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with high resolution LC-MS
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
  • The ability to communicate complex scientific findings clearly in written and spoken English.

It is of advantage if you have:

  • An understanding of pharmacokinetic principles and concentration-time data
  • Experience with ligand-binding assays

We offer

  • Competitive salary based on qualifications and flexible working hours.
  • A research project with a clear focus on innovation, assay development, and the 3Rs.
  • Strong cross-functional teamwork and opportunities for scientific and professional development.
  • A creative, goal-oriented and value-based working environment.

Working at Servier Symphogen
